Hi all, my red eared slider had started to develop white pigmentation on the shell and the underside about a month ago, i have been applying betadine daily (at first i suspect it is shell rot) and increased its dry docking time + sun exposure time, but it didn't seem to get better.
May i get some advice on what else i can do / if to see a vet, which vet is recommended.
Thank you so much!

Hi there! Is your terrapin relatively new? sometimes transport may injure its shell, and the white chipped off parts on top could be scaring from it healing and go away as it grows up.
We do have some medication we sell at the museum to help treat the water too, it may help with the times it spends in the water, it'll go well with the betadine treatment. It'll also help if you get some ulcer gel to cover up the more indented spots on the shell to repel the water a little, keeps it dry and clean for a longer period.
Increased sun exposure is also great, If you're worried you should bring it to the vet. We can't recommend 1 exactly, but a quick google search for reptile vets should bring up some promising results!
apply medication that sell at the museum by Joseph will definitely a very good decision..
try those Sore throat mouth wash with cotton, think I have used such method on tortoise for very minor injury before...but use the right medicine supply from Musium will be good choice..
